The PRM syllabus changed very recently (a few weeks ago) and it includes some new topics which I believe are in the new handbook. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of the books, I can’t afford to buy them. If anyone has access to them, can they provide some of the new material? (for e.g. Ho-Lee, Hull White model, etc) I did search on the internet but due to the vague nature of these models and different conventions, it’s hard to imagine all of them together.
Thanks!

July 17, 2011 at 12:15 pm #560AnonymousGuestI checked with PRMIA on the change of syllabus, and received the following response from them:
“The Handbook content has not been updated since late 2009. The copyright dates have been updated to reflect minor typos and tweaks.” “…there have not been any significant changes to the syllabus in two years. When we update the exam study guides and handbooks (correcting typos, updating the introduction, etc.) we add the date of these last changes to the publications. “
So perhaps the changes you are seeing are just the minor corrections, typos etc, there is no change in substance to the syllabus. Note that the 2009 updates related to the change in syllabus, particularly for Exam 3 where new reading materials were introduced (see here: http://riskprep.com/blog/changes-to-the-prm-syllabus.html).
So regardless of what you might see in the study guides, it is safe to stay with the older version of the Handbook that you have – you will be fine.
Hope that helps,
MukulJuly 17, 2011 at 1:06 pm #561AnonymousGuestAh okay. I already gave (and hopefully cleared) the third exam. I did buy the new handbook. The articles that are provided didn’t seem too daunting (the paid ones). Yet, in the exam, I remember 3 back to back questions being from ONE of them. If possible, everyone *should* try to get access and at least read them once before giving the exam.
And thank you for your reply!
