Hi All,
I have just written the PRM 3 exam and thought I’d share my experience thus far.
I wrote exams 1,4 and 2 last year and passed all on the first attempt. I found that exam 3 is the trickiest/hardest and most amount of content to cover, followed by exam 2,1 and 4.
For all exams I used Kesdees and Risk prep to prepare and I can definitely say that they both helped for exam 1,2 and 4. Exam 3 was really more dependent on knowing the handbooks really well… i dont think anyone will be ready for the type of questions asked… i am not convinced I passed.
Exam 1,2 and 4 consists of 24 questions for 2 hours and exam 3 is 60 questions for 3hours.
I have 10 years of experience in banking, 5.5 years of which has been in Market risk. I found the course work extremely beneficial and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the risk field.

June 15, 2017 at 4:33 pm #1192AnonymousGuestSo did you passed? How did it go?
July 27, 2017 at 2:05 pm #1199AnonymousGuestThanks for your feedback. It’s interesting how much your background actually determines which Exam you are likely to find easy. I am in the ERM space and I studied Actuarial Science as my undergraduate degree so naturally Exam 2 was the easiest followed by Exam 4 and then Exam 3. I am struggling with Exam 1 like you cannot believe. I don’t necessarily find the material hard but somehow I managed to get my worst mark for PRM with this Exam…that really bothered me. I used the practice Exams but was still not able to clear. I even had to blame my preggy brain to rationalise my bad mark…lol.
Anyway, writing again in Sept and hoping that I clear it this time. I only have until December to clear so fingers crossed.

November 21, 2017 at 5:33 am #1213AnonymousGuestNo the content of the text books really well. It’s tested in a strange way.
Just to share, My exam had an error in one question, they referred to a formula above but there was no formula given. I’m emailed PRMIA and I’m not sure if I was given the mark but I passed!

November 29, 2017 at 2:45 pm #1195AnonymousGuestExam 3 – how much of the calculator did you have to use would you say , or was it most conceptual .Thanks .
November 29, 2017 at 3:09 pm #1219AnonymousGuestI only had to use it once. The exam is not very mathematical.
