I have obtained the PRM certification in March this year. However, i have this feeling that PRM is not as recognised as other established risk certification (eg FRM etc) and i have to explain PRM to others before they can understand what the cert is about. Not sure if other members face the same issue? Does it mean PRM value is much diminished or is more of the awareness issue. After going through the 4 exams and putting in so much effort to clear the “thick” curriculum, it will be the biggest disappointment if PRM is indeed not that recognised. Can someone advise? Thanks.

September 7, 2015 at 2:24 pm #1126AnonymousGuestIn terms of syllabus, FRM and PRM are around the same. In terms of the history, PRM founders are also originated from FRM. In terms of University endorsement, PRM does have the right prestige. I do not understand why FRM is still highly recognised, especially when its study materials or past year exams are so readily available as compared to PRM. This is really not doing justice to PRM.
September 7, 2015 at 2:41 pm #1127AnonymousGuestWhat is your view on exam 3? Any pointers…
I’ve just got all the books and I must be say the standard of some of the chapters is very poor. Clearly not been proof read or edited.
September 8, 2015 at 8:23 am #1128AnonymousGuestAre your books updated (i.e. the 2011 version)? My view is exam 3 is one of the hardest exam (exam 1 as well). The things they test are also more of application and unde3rstanding. Pre reading may not help much.
September 8, 2015 at 9:02 am #1129AnonymousGuestI’ve got the brand new 2015 books. A lot of it is covered in the CFA, which I hold. I’ve noted a fair bit of maths and equations…but then a few sentences that sum up the equations. I guess this is what is important in the exam speaking to others rather than memorising or fully understanding the maths. Any view?
