did you find it very different from the simulated exams here on Risk Prep?
could you please share your experience? Many thanks
March 2, 2017 at 3:46 am #1185AnonymousGuestI passed the exam. The exam really focuses on the little things so reading the book really helps rather than crash course notes.

March 6, 2017 at 6:21 pm #1186AnonymousGuestHi All,
It would be helpful to know:
a) whether the sample questions on riskprep are in line with the questions of the exam.
b) confirm whether there were any questions re credit models (i.e. Credit metrics, KVM etc). These are not covered in the new handbook.
Many thanks in advance for your help
March 7, 2017 at 8:50 am #1188AnonymousGuestCan anyone confirm if for exam 3 the questions are 60 and time allowed is 3 hours?
March 7, 2017 at 9:48 pm #1189AnonymousGuestyes.
March 15, 2017 at 5:49 pm #1179AnonymousGuestAll,
I wanted to come back on Exam 3 and give my feedback. I took the exam a couple of days ago and:
1) The questions are more on concepts that on actual numbers (the number of exercises where calculations are required were no more than 6-7 by memory)
2) there were a few questions on risk management processes. Market and credit risk that were mainly centered on wording. In summary i suggest reading the book very well
3) risk prep questions were very good as a basis for preparation to cover both technical/number questions in case needed and general theoryThanks
May 10, 2017 at 10:52 am #1190AnonymousGuestHi,
Quick question, are the 60 questions or 36 questions in the exam for 3hours?
June 16, 2017 at 2:36 pm #1178AnonymousGuestHi all
I have just taken Exam III and it was very different to how I thought it would be.
I didn’t have to use the calculator once which will tell you how theory-based the questions were!
Some of the questions were incredibly detailed and relied on exact analogies drawn in the handbook – i.e. regardless of how prepared you were, how experienced you were in your field, etc, if you hadn’t remembered a very small example from the textbook you would have no chance.
The questions given on RiskPrep were far more calculation based than the exam and as a whole were not representative of the kind of detail you need for the exam – while still being useful in ensuring you understood the concepts.
Overall I recommend (as others have previously done here) strongly memorising all aspects of the textbooks, regardless of how familiar the concepts are to you from your professional experience.
June 16, 2017 at 2:42 pm #1191AnonymousGuest3 hours, 60 questions (I found the time to be more than adequate)
June 20, 2017 at 2:05 am #1177AnonymousGuestHi all,
Me too I passed the exam III on june 16th. There was no question requiring the calculator. It’ was only about the concepts you learn through the handbook.
I used kesdee to prepare myself and even if it was not representative at all of what you have in the books or in the exam, it helped me to understand better the concepts.
The 3 last weeks before the exam I went through the books a second time . Because Of that I found the exam not too difficult as it’s all about mastering the books. And a lot of it was still fresh in my head.
So as an advice I recommend you focus on reading the books.
if you have time , best would be to read the books once then practice using risk prep or kesdee ( kesdee has also e-courses that are not similar to the chapters in the handbook but help to get a better understanding of what risk management is about) and finish with a second time reading the books.
May 19, 2019 at 1:28 pm #1201AnonymousGuestTotally agree with this feedback! And that is what caught me. The devil in the detail. I really struggle with this. Writing AGAIN on the 27th will have to see. Feels like you really need some photagrafic talent for this one
