PRM recognition
April 12, 2012 at 9:55 am #698AnonymousGuestI recently finished my PRM exam and got my certification in Jan 2012. I still think Risk Prep is still the best form of preparation in relation to the many courses out there. I like the topic by topic approach which target the subtle differences that can cost big time during the exam. I had bought the package on PRMIA website and only after Risk prep did I feel the courgage to take exam, which I did very well (OK I didn’t get the candidate of the year award, but I was confident i would.)
April 13, 2012 at 6:02 am #699AnonymousGuestCongratulations! May I know how you prepared for Exam 3? Did you just rely on Vol III of the Handbook?
I spent 2.5 hrs yesterday just to print Vol III and all the supplementary readings, & binding it in 3 books (market, credit & operational risk). I think there were about 700 pages in all. Printing the books directly from PRMIA’s site is a real pain. Downloading & viewing in Locklizard is better, but a watermark gets printed on each page.
April 13, 2012 at 6:28 am #700AnonymousGuestTo prepare I went through the Vol 3 materials at least twice. Among the practice questions I bought was the Riskprep package which is useful for helping you to sort out the subtle differences between true and false in a exam and its chapter by chapter approach. I also bought material from Edupristine as well as the diagostic material from PRMIA website. Those help me with the technical aspect of the exam, while Riskprep will help a lot with the intuitive aspect due to its lengthy explanation of key aspects of the exam without being overly technical because the Handbook is just too techical.
One thing I can never overemphasize in an PRM exam……Expect anything. Even the easy ones. Never discount any part of the handbook. Of all the things I expected to come in an exam…most didn’t. Study and understand the Study questions that PRMIA provides you will be shocked how many actually end up in the exam. When all fails in an exam, your intution will see you through, mine gt me 83 for exam 3
