Just starting having a look at it and it seems to be totally different in places from the books. Entire sections and subjects that aren’t in the books.
Any ideas how out of date it is?
December 9, 2019 at 12:12 pm #1303Jyothi Shelin KrishnanMemberI am also looking for the same info.
Is it really useful to buy the Kesdee package?
Additionally the price was showing as 49$ until last week and now again its back to the 80$ range.December 11, 2019 at 12:30 pm #1304AnonymousGuestMy advice would be not to pay for it. I did, then noticed a lot of the topics were not in the books. When I emailed Kesdee they just responded saying it’s out of date – no offer of a refund, no apology for selling study resources the KNOW are useless. Pretty shoddy way to operate if you ask me.
December 11, 2019 at 3:12 pm #1316Jyothi Shelin KrishnanMemberThanks for the reply. What material would you suggest for the PRM then, only handbooks?
Also RiskPrep tests are they also in line with the exam?December 11, 2019 at 6:44 pm #1305AnonymousGuestSo I have found risk prep to be a bit more in-line, but still not perfect. There are definitely questions that are not covered and some sections missing. I haven’t passed the exam yet – first sitting is on Friday this week. As such, I can’t really say with confidence if the Risk prep questions are useful or not. I can tell you I have been using them as an approximate guide as to where my knowledge is and focusing on the material in the books. recently I have been scoring between 73% – 875 in practice tests so if I get below 60% on Friday then perhaps Risk Prep isn’t particularly helpful either!

I am assuming then its the handbooks + risk prep exams will be the preferred route now. Unlike FRM, it has been difficult to find study materials for PRM.December 14, 2019 at 2:16 pm #1307AnonymousGuestHaving now sat the exam, my advice is not to get bogged down in the quant stuff like I did. The questions are rubbish and ask about seemingly insignificant details. They’re also really poorly worded. I’m unimpressed so far with the quality of exams and resources PRMIA produce. No idea if I passed but if I resist I will not be spending as much time learning the VaR methods, PCA as in depth. That turned out to be time wasted.
